Gotta Start Somewhere…..

It’s funny I have been actually stressing over starting a blog. I have no idea why lol. It seems silly when I am constantly on some social network putting things out there anyway. Like it says in my “About me”, I am in my 30’s (33 to be exact) and a first time mama. I have a beautiful 2 year old red head (Zoe)! She is our world. Whenever my husband Josh is off work we have what we call family fun days! We try very hard to make these days as memorable and fun as possible for all of us! I usually take a ton of pictures!!! Being a parent was something I never thought I would be blessed with in this life (That will be a story for a different blog) so I enjoy and cherish every second of it!!!

Yesterday we ventured out to a new local park. I get frustrated sometimes, because most parks are designed for children 5 years old and up. Not that Zoe would have played on the smaller equipment, she much like me is an all or nothing kind of gal! 😉 It is just nerve racking for any parent to watch their two year old climb, flip, and jump off anything, especially if it over 10 foot tall!  When did I start raising a monkey ha ha ha!!!

It is amazing how much energy a child has! One of the main reasons Josh and I worry so much about our health and fitness is having the ability to keep up with Zoe! We love being the active parents! I grew up in a home where my brother and I were encouraged to always be active, but our parents were never there to cheer us on or be supportive in any way. So I am adamant about both of us being active with her. Plus,it is great bonding time for all of us!

We spend family fun days out having fun. When we are at home we spend our time in the kitchen. Being healthy is more than just being active! We spend Josh’s days off not only out and about having fun as a family, but these are our food prep days. We also have our daughter help with the preparation of our meals too. I think it is important to do things together, plus she is more willing to eat things she helped make! Getting a child to eat healthy doesn’t have to be hard. We don’t give her other options. She eats what we make or she won’t eat. She rarely chooses the latter lol She actually loves the healthy stuff! We try to keep our diets as clean as possible. Eating clean does not mean we don’t eat well! Josh and I both love to cook, so we are always looking for tasty options!!!

I am a firm believer that a active and healthy child is a happy child!

What types of activities do you and your family do together? Are there any special meals your kids love and do you let them help you in the kitchen? I would love to have input on other family lifestyles as well as opinions of my newly found hobby of blogging.
