#Giveaway Winner & How I matched Up To May’s Goals

Last day of the month, so you know what that means……. Goal Check In! Let’s check my progress, shall we?

My first Goal for May was to JUST BE… I did well with this! I was much more laid back and relaxed. It felt good to just say oh well to certain things and let them go. I tend to always be a worrier. It was nice to remind myself that something just aren’t worth the worry. What will be, will be. ūüėČ

Got back to my normal Bible study and prayer. Like I said last month, this has always been my key ME time. Time for me to get centered as well as get straight with God. It felt good to be back into my routine. I want Zoe to see our relationship with God and know how much faith we have. It is a blessing to hear her say her bed time prayers and talk to God.

Next goal was a FAIL….. ūüôĀ I did NOT practice what I preach and I keep letting the scale dictate my progress. I am SO scared to gain weight that I now worry I am affecting my gains. Eff the scale I am putting it away till August!!!!

We have just about everything ready for Zoe’s birthday! Still some odds and ends to purchase, but all little stuff. I can’t wait to see her face on her birthday!!!!

I think I made some HUGE strides this month. My legs are increasing in size, my back is getting thicker, chest more defined, and my arms are really starting to grow as well! Obviously, not where I want to be. Feeling super bloated the past couple of days… grrrr. I started using the stairmill at the gym, just to get a little cardio in. I think this will ease my mind on the added weight gain. Either way eff the scale ha ha ha ha

I Am Officially A Sponsored Athlete & June Goals Are Up!!!!

If you missed it on my social media pages, I have some pretty phenomenal news! I am officially a sponsored athlete! Vitacost.com has graciously added me to their team! I am proud to represent their awesome company!!!! Thank you so much Vitacost for this opportunity!!!!

I am so excited for June ūüėČ Zoe will be 3 years old on the 16th!!! I have had my goals for June planned out way ahead of time (like 2 weeks now) since I lost track last month ha ha ha.¬†¬†Let’s get ready for June shall we!¬†

  1. First and foremost I need to get Zoe’s Little Mermaid Birthday Cake prepped and made. It usually takes me two days to complete a big cake. I have it drawn up and planned out. It is amazing how many ideas and pictures you can find on the internet! Zoe is SO excited for her cake!!!!¬†
  2. It is funny how Zoe picked the Little Mermaid as her theme. Josh and I decided to get her a big girl pool this year as her birthday surprise! Nothing fancy ūüėČ just a pool big enough for her to learn how to swim. We bought extra floats, a new Ariel swimsuit, pool toys, the works! So getting the backyard leveled out and the pool set up is the next goal. Luckily it looks fairly easy!¬†
  3. Like I talked about last week, I am experimenting with the EMS unit. I want to make sure I continue to use it post workout 5 days a week. I want to give it a full month to see if there is a difference. Not gonna lie, I actually enjoy giving my muscles the extra jolt!

    PicsArt_1369692724867

Gotta love how it makes my hands go funny lol

  4. To step up my game in posing practice. I need to be practicing everyday that I hit the gym. My posing is not where it needs to be and I know this. Having shoes would help, but for now I can practice without them.

Not posing per say ha ha but I am in the room where I practice ;-)

Not posing per say ha ha but I am in the room where I practice ūüėČ

  5. To STOP worrying about the scale. Yes, I am still obsessing about my weight. Not so much that I weigh more, but I worry about gaining too much during my bulk. My goal is to stay between 10-15lbs max. I am still under, but I think my paranoia is affecting my gains. I need to just concentrate on building muscle and not care so much about my weight. My eating is pretty spot on, so I really have no reason to worry. That damn scale gets me every time. I need to just put it away and stop caring!

  6. To keep hitting it hard in the gym, the kitchen, and in bed! (When I say in bed, I mean sleep wise. Jeez, get your head out of the gutter already ha ha ha) ¬†I have days like anyone else, where I have no desire to get up and do anything. Those are the days I think I push myself the hardest in the gym. I have seen SO many¬†improvements¬† just in the past couple of months. Areas that I use to be ashamed of, are now becoming my favorite body parts! ¬†I know my body is growing, because my sleepiness is too ha ha ha. I have always been a go go go kind of person and over this past month I am seriously dragging. It’s all good though ūüėČ I will keep pushing, eating, and resting so I can keep growing! ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†¬†

Do you make small goals to reach your big ones? What are your goals for June? I hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

What’s In My Pantry????

I have been trying to answer as many questions that I can via email, but I get a lot of the same questions from many people. It is easier to address them here ūüôā Just to¬†reiterate, I am not a trainer or a¬†nutritionist.¬† What I have learned, is from others in the industry, doing my own research, and trial and error. It is what has been working for me. I am constantly tweaking my diet, training, and am always learning. I believe in life we are always on a learning curve. There is so much information to go through.

Yesterday I talked about the why and when of supplements. Another common question I get is what do I eat and what does my grocery list look like.

I am not gonna lie to you. I LOVE to cook, but since I started to track my macros, cooking extravagant meals is a sometimes event in my household. We all eat basically the same things everyday, which we prep once or twice a week. The only differences  in our meals, will be how we spice it up or what sauces we use. Being that I am bulking there are more cheats and I do buy more fats. These are typical things you will find in my kitchen.

  • Boneless Chicken Breasts- we buy 12-14lbs a week. I slow cook it in the crockpot with water and shred it. We eat on this all week.
  • Ground Turkey, Chicken, or Lean Beef- This is something we will buy if it is on sale so more of a sometimes meat in our house. If we do have it, I make meatloaf muffins and we eat on the throughout the week.
  • Fish- also something we purchase if it is on sale. It is typically a cook when you feel like eating it food in our house. Unless I am leaving the house for the day, then I will precook some to take with me. Believe it or not cold fish is pretty tasty lol
  • Lean Cuts Of Beef- Because I am bulking I can eat more beef, so if it is on sale you can¬†guarantee¬†it is in my freezer! This is something we cook when ready to eat. I like my steaks medium-rare to medium, so no precooking this.
  • Frozen and Fresh Veggies- I buy both because frozen is easier on the pocket book and I eat A LOT of veggies in one sitting. Some veggies I prefer fresh, because I will eat them raw as a snack.
  • Fruit- Most of the fruit we buy gets devoured by Zoe ūüėČ I do freeze a ton of bananas every week for our muscle shakes. Josh is always rushing in the morning, so it is easier to get him to drink a shake on the go than sit down to eggs and oats.
  • Eggs- We buy 15 dozen every two weeks. I eat around 8-12 eggs a day and Zoe usually has 1 or 2.
  • Oats- We go through a TON of oats. They get mixed into our muscle shakes and I eat them for breakfast.
  • Fage Plain Greek Yogurt- This is something else we eat a ton of. I use it for veggie dip, sauces when I cook, and Zoe loves it with honey.
  • Nut Butters- our favorite healthy fat. We go through a jar of peanut butter a week. Zoe’s addiction may be worse than mine ha ha ha
  • Quinoa- My favorite complex carb! High in fiber and oh so great to cook with!
  • Jasmine rice- In some circles is¬†considered¬†a complex carb in others it is a simple carb. We buy it because Josh and Zoe are not huge fans of brown rice. This is my compromise ha ha ha We enjoy the flavor more and it is healthier than white rice.
  • Sweet Potatoes- Another great complex carb that can be eaten in several different ways! My favorite is roasted with garlic and topped with ranch Fage.
  • Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning- Is it clean… eh not so much, but it is something to bring flavor to our meals.
  • Sriratcha- If you have not tried this hot sauce, I highly recommend it!!!! By far a huge food staple in our house!!!!
  • Mustard- a no calorie flavor to add to anything, again a huge food staple in our house!
  • Nature’s Own Whole Grain bread- I eat it every great once in a while. Zoe and Josh eat it the most. I like it because it does not have corn syrup or other nasty additives.
  • Olive, Grapeseed, and Coconut oil- ¬†outside of peanut butter, these are my healthy fats
  • Apple Cider Vinegar- I use it in my water and to make dressings.
  • Random Seasonings and Herbs- Like oregano, basil, cumin, garlic, etc things to change up our meals
  • Walden Farms sauces- Again, not clean. They are calorie free and if I want to have a change of flavor I will use these
  • Stevia- our sweetener of choice
  • Coffee- I drink it with a sugar free syrup
  • DaVinci Sugar Free Syrups- So many great flavors!!!!
  • Chicken and/or Beef Base- Something else to change up meals
  • Veggie noodles- I don’t buy these a ton, but on¬†occasion¬†we eat these for carbs
  • Rice noodles- Oh so addicting lol I love them. Probably considered a simple carb, but tasty nonetheless
  • Craft Beer (IPA’s)- Healthy? No, but a nice once in a while¬†indulgent treat!
  • Cheese- Zoe and Josh eat a ton, for me it is a once in a while treat.

We do still buy indulgences or “sometimes” food. Most we do not buy them to store though. If we do buy junk it is bought when we plan on eating it, typically cheat days. ūüėČ

What are some food staples in your home? Do you keep junk food on hand for when you crave it? Does you family eat the same meals as you? Hope this answered some more questions. Have a fabulously fit day!!!!

The What & Why On The Supplements I Take

I have been getting questions about supplements. Why I take them and when is a good time to take them.

I get flack from some who think that supplements are a waste or they are cheating. I personally do not see them as a waste and certainly NOT cheating. I still have to put time in the kitchen and the gym to earn what I have!

The reason I take supplements, is because with as hard as I train my body depletes certain nutrients that are¬†necessary. This is what I take on a daily basis….

Multi-Vitamin- I take this because you never know what nutrients your body might be lacking in. If you are not balanced your metabolism will not function and your performance will not be optimal. I take these first thing in the morning. I am not a pill popper, so I personally get gummies ha ha ūüėČ

Collagen- ¬†I take this for several reasons. To keep my skin healthy.¬†Collagen is needed ¬†for the normal regeneration of skin tissue. It also increases your body’s ability to produce new skin cells. It also aids in joint health. By increasing collagen in your body, you naturally improve the¬†ligaments, tendons, and cartilage around your joints. I take collagen in the morning and before bed.

Glutamine- During intense training, your body’s natural glutamine levels drop. It actually can take up to a week to naturally restore. When levels are low, it decreases your strength, stamina, and recovery. Glutamine also aids in your muscles ability to¬†metabolize protein as well as prevent muscle break down. I take Glutamine before bed.

Creatine- It allows you to increase the intensity and frequency of your workouts. Creatine also increases the recovery rate of you muscle cells. It helps increase your metabolic rate which in the long run will help you with fat loss. The benefits to creatine are numerous; Has a neuroprotective function, enhances bone regeneration, improves recovery following endurance activity, increases muscle mass, among many other things! I take this pre and post workout.

BCAA’s or Branch Chain Amino Acids- the basic function of BCAA’s is to keep your muscles from breaking down during a workout. I take my BCAA’s pre and post workout.

Protein- There are different types of proteins on the market. There is isolate, blends, and casein. Isolates are fast absorbing and typically are super low in fat and carbs, blends absorb at a slower rate and tend to have more carbs and fat as well as a little easier on the budget, Casein’s are a slow absorbing protein. I typically will take an isolate or blend pre and post workout. casein I take before bed to keep my muscles in an anabolic state. There are also different types of protein as far as soy, whey, egg, etc. I personally take whey, but they all have different benefits. I love all protein ha ha ha ūüėČ

I still do eat most of my nutrients. However, I also rely on my supplements since training is so strenuous on my body. To those who seem to think that supplements are bad, are a waste of money, or are cheating, I just say to you, ¬†educate yourself before making such absurd assumptions. I am by no means an expert on supplements. What I know is from doing research on what works best for me. I always advise others to do the same! We have the internet, which is a great tool to educate ourselves ūüėČ

As always I hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

Memorial Day, LSM, & Some Motivation To Kick The Week Off Right!

Happy Memorial Day! HUGE thank you to all who serve and their families. You all sacrifice so much including your lives. You deserve more than just one day of thanks!

This past weekend was not spent on a lake or grilling in the backyard. Josh left every morning around 8:30am and came home around 9:30pm. He had long and hard days at work. I actually spent the weekend struggling to keep my eyes open. It’s funny, I always thought I trained pretty hard, but now I KNOW I am training hard. My extreme exhaustion, muscle soreness, twitching, and hunger are all signs of greatness! Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday were extreme rest days for me! My body was just hungry and tired, so I listened and ate when I was hungry and slept when I could. Thankfully Zoe takes 3 hour naps!!!! ūüėČ I am growing!!!!

I am ready to get back in the gym today! It is shoulder training day. It is also Lady Swole Monday & Motivation Monday! Be sure to get over to NPC Figure Competitor Hope Trask’s Facebook Page and show some love to all the participants and or submit your progress pics!!!!

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

Little Rant Before The Holiday Ha Ha ha

Seems every week my training is getting more exhausting! I sleep well at night and also have been taking naps in the afternoon. I haven’t been this tired since I was pregnant! It’s funny how I went from never being able to sleep to barely being able to keep my eyes open. Sleep is important to grow and I have no problem with getting extra shut eye ha ha ha.

I was talking to someone at the gym other day who had asked my advice on how to drop extra pounds and get toned. She then ¬†seemed to think I spend all my time in the gym. I spend about an hour to two in the gym 5 days a week. She then said how she would love to be fit, but just doesn’t have the time to spare since she has a child and husband to look after. Her gym sessions can never be more than 20 mins a day and she just doesn’t have the time to do food prep once a week. I explained I too have a family. ¬†She then gave me a list of excuses why she couldn’t do one thing or another. Just had a horrible case of excusitis!

No matter how I tried to explain that it is all about time management, she just wouldn’t hear me. I got an excuse for everything that came out of my mouth. I tried to end the conversation politely so I could get back to my workout and she said something that stuck a nerve. She said “Well some people take more pride in their family time than others, I am one of those people.” My retort was that I care enough about myself and my family to get us all up and going ¬†together on a daily basis, as well as keeping healthy foods in the house. ¬†Our family time is spent actually communicating with each other, having fun together, and being active. Not lounging on the sofa zoned into the tv and a bag of chips. I let her know that my family time has NEVER been sacrificed. Needless to say she stomped off as if I had offended her.

I understand everyone is¬†entitled¬†to their opinion. I certainly know that not everyone wants the lifestyle that I lead, but to ask someone for advice, then quickly give a million reasons why you couldn’t do it, basically in my eyes just means you do not want it badly enough. The 1-2 hours a day I spend training is in exchange for 1-2 hours in front of the tv. This is how I prefer to spend my time. Yes I also do food prep once a week, which is time consuming, but this is usually done with my husband and if Zoe wants to help then it becomes a family time activity.

Raising a healthy family does not have to mean that everyone is not having fun. My goals to become a NPC/IFBB competitor will never out rank my role as a mother/wife. My family will always come first. There are many mothers in the industry who not only train hard, but take very good care of their families.

I believe everyone should find what makes them happy. If it is sitting in front of the tv, then so be it! My happy place is in the gym. Most days it is my time to collect my thoughts and take a break from my daily stresses.  Other days it is a place for my husband and I to reconnect and have fun together.

Someone may have a different lifestyle. It doesn’t mean one or the other is better. It just means you have different interests and goals. I shouldn’t have let the lady upset as much as she did, but I take pride in my family time. I did not know the woman. ¬†Just seen her a couple of times at the gym. I¬†believe¬†she was looking for a quick fix to her weight issues and when she didn’t get the answers she wanted she retorted to being nasty.

Do you ever feel judged for the choices you make for your family?

Sorry to vent lol but it has been a strange week for me! Josh is working a ton this weekend with it being Memorial Day. We are blessed he gets the opportunities that he does!

With that being said, we are thankful to everyone in our Armed Forces as well as their families for the sacrifices they have made for our country! I hope you all have a very happy holiday weekend! I will be back on Monday!!!! xoxo

Speaking of fabulous fans, My Lunatiks Athletiks Zuza Compression Socks winner is…………. ¬† Danielle W.¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†Congratulations! I have sent you an email and look forward to hearing back so we can get your prize out to you!!!!

Yesterday was awesome! I got some training time with my hubby Josh, which hasn’t been happening a lot lately. With¬†memorial¬†weekend closing in quick, he has been slammed at the store and working late a lot. With that being said, he only got yesterday off work, so leg day will be done today solo. Boooo ūüôĀ Ah well, I actually have a ton of chores to do today on top of training and when he is home I never get much done lol. No more pushing it off for tomorrow, it must all get done today!

Posing practice has been going great! Josh was a huge help yesterday in critiquing me. We have been taking videos, but I am not ready to share those with you quite yet ha ha ha. Maybe after I start cutting weight again ūüėČ I am feeling quite fluffy lately. Anyway, we take the videos so I can see what I am doing and to send to my mentors who help in critiquing me and correct my form. I am a diamond in the rough and I have A LOT of polishing left to do!

I am super stoked today! My Facebook page has reached over 500 likes!!!!!! So, another HUGE Thank you to all who have shared my page!!!! In honor of you all being so PHENOMENAL, I am teaming up with Ripped Cream! One lucky reader will receive an 8oz bag of Ripped Cream Coffee Creamer in their choice of flavor! Now you can get your protein first thing in the morning, quick and easy! What mama doesn’t LOVE that!?!?! They have an awesome back story too! It was actually developed in none other than a sippy cup ūüėČ

RIPPED CREAM Coffee Creamer

The Worlds First Protein Coffee Creamer. “Get Ripped”

“The small town of Copperopolis, California is sleepy no more. Local mom/business owner/entrepreneur Robin Dimiceli has set a new standard for coffee creamer!

Ripped Cream is the Worlds first healthy protein coffee creamer; A whole foods compliant, all natural, gluten free, protein delight! A single serving gives you 50% of the RDI of Vitamin D3 and 11 amino acids. The edgy branding shows a sense of humor and a big nod to the health diet and fitness world. A variety of new flavors are coming, so try them all and “Get Ripped” with Ripped Cream!!

Raising four kids as a single mom created a challenge: who has time for breakfast these days? Robin began making Ripped Cream as her own keep-me-going concoction in a sippy cup in her kitchen. Most flavored creamers are made with hydrogenated oils or trans fats. Consuming trans fatty acids incorporates them into your cells so your cells actually become hydrogenated! Consequences include increased occurrence of heart disease, sexual dysfunction, weakened immune system, cancer, atherosclerosis, diabetes, and obesity.

Americans on the go should have protein within 30 minutes of waking up for optimum health. Our bodies do not store protein, so we need to supplement!  No time for eggs and oatmeal? Fuel your coffee with Ripped Cream, and without breaking your stride you have breakfast in a cup! Americans consume over 123 million cups of coffee per day and nutritional supplements sales were estimated at 23 Billion dollars in 2010.

Despite America’s trend toward healthy food choices, there have appeared to be no innovations in the creamer market. New to the food industry, but willing to learn – Robin was clear about three things: her creation needed to be healthy, delicious, and hold the highest standards for ingredients. Could it be done? ¬†Just when you think coffee has seen it all, Robin Dimiceli introduces a new idea infusing a healthy start with your cup of ‚Äújoe‚ÄĚ.”

I Need Your Opinion Please!!!

I have been spending the past few days shopping for a suit for the competition. You may be thinking, you competition isn’t till next year!?!?! Well, with the price of a suit ranging between $300-$500 I figured better look now for what I want so I know how much to save.

I am hoping to get a sponsor or two to help with all of the costs of competing. The biggest expenses for me will be the suit/shoes, travel, and NPC Fees. I am in talks with one company for sponsorship, so fingers crossed that I get it!!!!

I want something that is different than what most girls wear. I want it to be blingy, so when the stage lights hit it, I really light up! And of course I want it to be on the lower end of the price spectrum! These are the suits I have picked out so far…

Super bling with lots of shine at $350

Dark Turquoise Two-piece Figure Competition Suit

Love the color of this one plus it’s different style! $305

Black Spandex Two-piece Figure Competition Suit

This one is really different as far as style goes and I love the design! $320

Purple Two-piece Figure Competition Suit

I love the color of this one too! You can see, I am in love with this style of bottoms! ūüėČ $355

Gorgeous! This suit can be done in any color. $340

There are some really amazing suits out there, but all come with an outrageous price tag! Believe it or not, the prices on these are modest compared to some!

I would love to get your opinion on what suit you think would look best on me! Is there another color I should look at? Ugh, so many decisions lol

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

Electric Muscle Stimulation & BodyBuilding, Does It Work?

If you go to the Chiropractor you are probably familiar with Electric Muscle Stimulation Machines or Tens Units.

It is most commonly used as¬†electroanalgesia. It sends electric shock to nerves to prevent pain. It also helps with muscle atrophy in¬†patients¬†who have bad injuries and/or surgeries and can not work those muscles. I have a handheld one from a back injury I had a few years ago, but I also have a bigger unit. I was looking online for replacement pad for the unit and came across an article that perked my interest. It is about the benefits of muscle endurance, and strength building with these machines! You can CLICK HERE to see the article. Anyway, this isn’t like the “Ab belt” you may have seen on tv that has the same idea, but that does not have nearly the power as an actual EMS unit, and we all know that abs are made in the kitchen anyway. However, the idea that you can exhaust your muscles even more post workout and get an even better pump to help them grow. Is something that has made me very curious!!! I actually remembered this being talked about with Bruce Lee. If you have seen the movie Dragon The Bruce Lee Story then you have heard about it too. Here is a quick clip

Since I already have the machine, I decided to start using it for more than just therapeutic reasons.  I will keep you updated as to whether I believe it is adding actual volume to my muscles. The thought is intriguing though! I do not plan on cutting back my training at all, this will just be something I add to my routine post workout. From what I have already experienced, I can tell you that it speeds up recovery time! My legs were not sore as long as last week and nor were my biceps.

I am curious to know your thoughts on the subject! Would you try this? Have you tried this?

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

Workout Clothes That Help Burn Calories? Oh Yeah, They’re Real!!!

Pretty excited this morning! A few weeks ago I was sent a pair of Hot Pants from Zaggora. Mind you, these aren’t your run of the mill workout pants. They actually came with a user¬†manual. Yeah, you read that right ha ha ha ūüėČ

DSC_3520

These “Hot” pants are exactly that, HOT! Meaning they make you sweat!!! These are made from a special material (Patent pending) called Celu-Lite Technology. To describe it, it feels like a thin foam materal. If you have ever been scuba diving, I would say it is similar to a scuba suit.

DSC_3519-1

DSC_3521

DSC_3522

It basically raises your core body temp while you are active. In doing so you raise your metabolic rate, burn more calories, and lose weight/inches faster and more efficiently! Check out this clip from ABC news

I wasn’t at all skeptical of them working. As soon as you put them on you instantly feel warm! These WILL make you sweat…. A LOT!!! They are super comfy and come in a ton of cute styles! They actually have a whole clothing line! Shirts, pants, jackets, shorts,¬†etc. They are constantly raising the bar and coming out with more cute styles and colors!

I am stoked to have these as part of my training arsenal  The Zaggora Hot Pants are going to be a huge help in getting competition ready when I start to cut weight again! The fact that the Zaggora clothing line increases your calorie expenditure is HUGE! This will save me time in the gym. Rather than having to be a cardio bunny for 30+ mins I will be able todo my weight training, then hop in do 15-20 mins of HIIT and be on my way! Being that I have a child in the gym daycare and only have so much time allotted, this is a big deal for me! Now I will be able to take my time with my weight training, mind you still burning more calories because of the pants, then off to do my HIIT. I personally believe it is going to save me time and energy!

Zaggora

I think they are a fabulous company with a phenomenal product line! Definitely worth checking out! You can see more reviews by CLICKING HERE¬†, see more on how it works by CLICKING HERE, and shop by clicking the picture above ūüėČ

Hope you all have a fabulously fit Saturday!!!!

Bringing Back The Gun Show

So I mentioned yesterday that I am switching up my Bicep day. My biceps have not improved much in the past few weeks. My shoulders and triceps have been doing great, but my biceps have been lacking. When something is not working, it needs just a little tweak. So, we decided it would be best to move my tricep training to Mondays with my shoulder training and Biceps will be the ONLY focus on Fridays. I seriously need to bring back the gun show! ūüėČ

This is the New and Improved bicep training! I am ready to see some results!!!! The same rules as always 4 sets of 8-10 reps for each exercise going up in weight each set. Last set to failure should be so heavy 4-6 reps is all you can do.

To start the workout I will do Alternating Dumbbell Curls

One Arm Preacher Curls

Close Grip Barbell Curls

Incline Dumbbell Curls

Wrist Curls

The Reverse Grip Bicep Curls like I explained last week with wrists down and wrists up. 4 sets of each

Mind you the first picture is just to show wrist positions. (I know he is doing wrist curls) Second picture is of the actual reverse bicep curl. I do one set of reverse curls with my wrists down, then one set with them up. I repeat this 4 times. Hope that makes sense.

Last but certainly not least Hammer Curls

I am hoping I start seeing some growth again! We shall see in a few weeks! Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!! xoxo

Whoa, What A Family Fun (Cheat) Day!

Yesterday was FABULOUS! We woke up bright and early to hit the gym for chest training. It was awesome because the gym was pretty much empty! From there we hit the store then headed home. Josh seemed to be in a hurry and wanted us to get cleaned up to leave again. Little did I know he had an extravagant lunch planned at Ocean Zen! (A local Sushi Bar)

I had no idea he was treating us to such a classy lunch ha ha ha ha ūüėČ Zoe was so excited! She LOVES sushi!!!

The food was phenomenal!!! It couldn’t have been more perfect!

IMG_20130515_162026From there we headed to Michael’s Craft store to pick up some supplies to make Zoe’s Little Mermaid cake. Josh bought her a 15’x4 swimming pool for her 3rd birthday next month and we decided on a beach theme ūüėČ I am SO excited to surprise her with the pool and cake! Her birthday is gonna be AWESOME!!! I can’t believe my little baby is already turning 3!!!

Once we got home and put everything away, Josh decided to bake a ham. LOL He was all about cheat meals yesterday. Meal 3 was the sushi, meal 4 was Chimichangas, and meal 5 was honey baked ham. I even had a drink and some See’s Chocolates ūüėČ SO good and I do not feel guilty in the least. Especially since today is leg day and I know I am gonna work it off. Needless to say, hubs spoils us ha ha ha ūüėČ

Aging & Joint Pain Problems? I Got Something For That! #GIVEAWAY

Last month I told you about a couple of new products I have been taking. NeoCell’s Beauty Bursts and Sport Collagen. You can CLICK HERE to read last month’s article.

I told you the benefits of NeoCell’s Collagen and showed you how much my skin has improved! NeoCell has sent me a few more products to try out! They sent me Collagen¬†Radiance Serum (which isn’t on the website yet but you can find it by CLICKING HERE) they also sent out some Collagen Plus C ¬†and¬†¬†Hyaluronic Acid for Josh.

I will start with the Collagen Radiance Serum. This stuff is AMAZING!!! Like I told you last month, my skin has already shown quite a bit of improvement from just the Beauty Bursts and Sport Collagen. I was excited to get this and start using it right away! The first thing I noticed is my skin is softer, more supple, and not dry. My skin started getting really dry after I had Zoe at the age of 31. Lines and wrinkles were setting in, acne scars showing up, my acne even got worse, and I looked my age if not older. I now am addicted to all of the NeoCell products I have been taking. I am on my 3rd tub of Sport Collagen, 2nd bag of Beauty Bursts, and getting ready to buy more serum. I don’t feel the need to always have make-up on. I am no longer embarrassed of my skin. Josh constantly tells me how soft my face is and how radiant my skin looks. I even got carded for alcohol last week. For being mid 30’s that isn’t bad ha ha ha ha

Had I been asked a few years ago to post a picture of myself with no make-up on after I had just woke up, I would have told you where to stick the camera lol. I am much more confident in myself and my skin!

Now the next two products I am MOST excited about. Josh has been living with chronic joint pain for quite a while. We have tried many supplements, ointments, medications, etc Nothing has helped enough for him to get back into the gym full time, let alone live pain free. This has made my training a little harder. I love having my husband in the gym with me, not just to be a spotter, but my support and training partner. He pushes me to go harder and heavier. He was in enough pain that he could only lift lighter weights, which frustrated him. He manages the largest Mattress Firm in the country, so he also has to lift mattresses on occasion which can also be extremely heavy. So him being in pain has been a daily struggle. His shoulder has been the main issue, but he also has minor back pain.

I had talked with the lovely Jean at NeoCell and she explained that her husband had knee issues and NeoCell had products that helped. At this point in the game, anything was worth a try! I told Josh they were sending some products for his joint pain. He had a¬†negative¬†attitude about it working, but was willing to try them out. He actually did a little research on NeoCell before we received the products and was impressed by this article….

“World-Class Triathlete Turns to NeoCell Collagen to Cope with Knee Pain and Keep Competing
NeoCell collagen products help maintain joint health

Santa Ana, Calif.¬†‚Äď (January 12, 2011) ‚Äď Russ Jones is a Southern Californian who travels the world to compete in triathlons. But Jones didn‚Äôt have to travel far to find a remedy for his knee pain ‚Äď he found relief from¬†NeoCell, a natural supplement and wellness company not far from his home.

Jones was looking for a product to help him to keep competing after enduring six knee operations. ‚ÄúI am bone-on-bone in my right knee,‚ÄĚ said Jones. ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs amazing I can still run.‚ÄĚ

He tried NeoCell’s Super Collagen+C Tablets and found the relief he was looking for.

This perked his interest! He received Collagen Plus C and Hyaluronic Acid. He had taken other brands of Hyaluronic Acid before for joint pain, but they never helped. Jean advised that he also use the Collagen Plus C. He has been taking both every night before bed for the past 2 weeks.

He is back in the gym full time, lifting heavier, able to keep up with my workouts, and has even said his back pain is diminished as well!

IMG_20130514_123820

This is HUGE!!!! We will continue to keep him on these products! I haven’t seen him this happy and healthy in a while. It is awesome to see him back in the gym full force and back to being himself!
