Time Flies, Good Thing You Are The Pilot

I say this often, but seriously WHERE DID THE MONTH GO!?!?!?

Luckily I have been calmly in control and things have gone pretty smoothly this month πŸ˜‰ My January goals seem to have, for the most part been accomplished.

My first and second goals were to get the packing, selling and cleaning of the house started. I can honestly say this has been going great! Most of the touch up painting has been done. Packing is almost complete and the garage sales are going without a hitch! We actually had one this morning ha ha ha The first garage sale was the hardest. Trying to get everything moved to garage and set up in -3 degree temps. Luckily everyone was waiting outside the garage door when I opened it. We were cleaned out in a matter of an hour. Josh and I were both standing there like what just happened!?!? Today’s crowd was the same, but we were ready for them this time! Selling everything and starting over makes the moves so much easier. Not to mention, who doesn’t like new stuff especially when you don’t have to come out pocket for it πŸ˜‰

Next up is Josh’s school loans….ugh these have been plaguing us for so long. I would love to say that we have them all under control. The fact is we only have a small part of them negotiated and back in good standing, but I will take it! To have a start on getting those debts under control is definitely a beginning!!! We have been keeping out faith and praying that God will grant us the wisdom to figure it all out. We may not get it all done quickly, but it will get done! I know we will be taken care of xoxo

Zoe’s lesson plans are still going good. Wish I could say great, but it is getting more difficult as we get closer to the move. I will keep doing my best and that is all that counts. I do have big plans for her when we do get settled into the new place! I have been researching many new lesson plans and teaching methods and can’t wait to start implementing them!!! I have strived to keep her on a schedule and keep her lessons fun and interesting. It does get difficult at times to manage everything when trying to move. It’s those times that we both get a little frustrated. Instead of book work, worksheets and crafts we have been working more on active learning which has been fun for both of us. I know we will both be happy to get back to our normal routine.

Changing up my training has been HUGE this month! I started doing delts/back twice a week. This has made both see substantial grow. My lats are much more developed, my lower and mid back are getting thicker and stronger and my delts have really come into their own. I also changed up my bicep/tricep training. I started implementing new exercises to make both really pop. Even my leg training has taken on some changes. My body has changed so much in the past couple of months. Every time I take progress pics, I am floored by the comparisons! I can honestly say I have never worked harder or been as focused on a goal as I am now!

I am blessed to say that I have some really amazing online friends! People who believe in me and my journey. I was able to earn enough money to not only pay for my NPC card, but also get the contest fees paid. I took the first step and applied for my NPC card. Once I get that back, the entry forms and fees will be sent in. I am so very excited. Everything has been falling into place perfectly. Β I have online support with a group of ladies who are there for me to vent, chit chat, ask questions and bounce ideas off of. They come from all walks of life and from all over. Whether they have helped financially or just with moral support, they have been there for me when others haven’t been. Some may not even know how much they have impacted not only this journey, but this life!Β Even though I have yet to meet any of these amazing ladies, I know God has certainly graced me with some phenomenal and loving people and I am forever grateful.

Last, but certainly not least is to continue to support my sponsor. Saturn Supplements has been amazing with supporting me and my goals. I could not be happier with my development. I can honestly say that my supplement stack has contributed greatly! I am more than thankful to them for their support and amazing products. I could not be more honored to work for such an amazing company!

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day xoxox Thank you for your ongoing support!!!!

Your Coach Told You To Do What!?!?

I was chatting with someone yesterday who is on the same journey to the stage. She seemed really frustrated and angry. To be honest she seemed to be really hungry too. She talked about cravings more than anything.

The more we chatted, the more I reflected on my weight loss last year. I remember restricting my calories so much that I was starving every night when I went to bed. I was angry everyday, because I watched my family and friends eating whatever they wanted, while I drooled over it.

At the time I thought that was how to achieve my goals. The conversation with this young lady started when I posted an article from one of the phenomenal ladies I am honored to have met on Facebook Kristy Wilce from Ready In 5 Weeks. She wrote about being a recovering “Clean Eater”. The article is exactly how I feel about food and my journey. It is definitely a must read CLICK HERE to check it out!

The lady I was chatting with, thought this article sent the wrong message. She says that if you have goals, you just have to sacrifice. Although I had that mindset in the past, I have since educated myself and know differently. Since I have started with the IIFYM lifestyle, my results have been amazing. Not only am I losing fat, but I am maintaining muscle (if not gaining a little) and I am going to bed satisfied. I no longer have cravings or hunger pangs.

If you follow me on Facebook or instagram, you know I do not eat crappy all the time. 90% of the time I actually eat really well, but there are times I do have goodies. Even in my contest prep. As we chatted, she mentioned having issues with a sweet tooth. Her coaches actually told her to take a bite of whatever she was craving and spit it out! I was was floored!!! I have heard of this practice before, but have yet met anyone who implemented it. I mean, let’s be straight, it’s an eating disorder. It is not that I personally believe it is an eating disorder, it actually is!!!! CLICK HERE to learn more. It is by NO means healthy. If your craving is that bad, just eat the damn food for Pete’s sake! I was pretty blunt with her about this and I suppose I offended her, but I was truly trying to help.

I told her she needs to find a new coach. She was more shocked that I drink an occasional diet soda, chew sugar free gum, eat cookies, sugar free candy and fruit. All of which I thought was horrible at one time too, but I enjoy them.Β If I am going to continue this lifestyle, it has to be sustainable. Being miserable and making my family miserable is not an option. Neither is risking my health. I have no desire to drop my calories below 1000. Heck I have no desire to drop them below 1500. She let me know that she did not believe I was as focused as her on my goals. I assure you, my goal is not just to cross the stage, but like most competitors I am in it to win it! I am also in it for the long haul, so I want to make sure I am healthy! When this journey started, it wasn’t just because I wanted an amazing body. I started this journey to set a healthy example for Zoe. I want her to love herself. I want her to be healthy and make healthy choices, but I also want her to enjoy this life πŸ˜‰

If you have a trainer/coach who is starving you, slamming you with cardio, or God forbid implementing the chew and spit method. I urge you to not only drop them, but get educated! There are MANY coaches out there who do it the right and healthy way! Competing and life are suppose to be fun! It doesn’t have to be a miserable journey πŸ˜‰

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!!!

Time For a Check In

I have been slacking on the photo updates of my progress. Please forgive my procrastination ha ha ha

In all seriousness, I have been extremely busy. Training has been going great! Getting everything ready for the move has also been going perfect. We started having garage sales this past Friday. It was super cold out (3 degrees), but the turn out was stupendous! We actually got rid of a lot of stuff and made good money. We still have a ton of stuff to get rid of, so a garage sale every Friday till we move. Whatever we do not sell, will be donated. I am so excited to be done with it all and ready to move into our beautiful new apartment!

My fat loss is right on schedule. Still losing a pound a week and my measurements are going down. I lose 1/4-1/2 an inch every 1-2 weeks. I am 19 weeks out from my competition. I am leaning out nicely. Seems the area that will lean out last is my fat back lol. My love handles are my trouble spot, but I know as I continue to lose, my waist will get smaller. Instead of dwelling on what problems I see, I focus more on what has made great improvements. I am starting to see abs form without having to flex, which is HUGE for me, my legs are also starting to see much better definition and my booty is more lifted and round.

Everyone’s journey is their own. I admit, it does get hard to NOT compare yourself to others. Just remember that everyone has started their journey at a different time, at a different body composition, as well as had a different journey over all. I know for me personally, I have tried many different diets/nutrition plans. Had I started with what I know now, I would be so much further. However, the journey I took taught me so much about what works best for me and my lifestyle πŸ˜‰ There is a learning curve to everything you do in life. I enjoy this process and will continue to seek out information to help me build.

Keep working hard and educating yourself! Google has been my best friend on this journey, as well as seeking out people and pages on social media. You would be surprised about how much you can learn from all of those random fitness pages on Facebook πŸ˜‰

I hope you all had a fabulously fit weekend! Be sure to check out my sponsor below for the highest quality supplements!

Derma Rolling Treatment Update

Someone asked if I was still Derma Rolling? Answer is YES!

I first started my treatments in August CLICK HERE and HERE for a quick review πŸ˜‰

I guess I had more scar tissue then, because it did not seem to hurt that bad. Now….different story ha ha. It does hurt and it does bleed more. I now do it once every 2 weeks instead of every week.

My skin shows a little more improvement with each treatment. Color, texture, scarring, even fine lines and wrinkles have been changing. I am comfortable in my skin now. I wear less make-up and don’t mind taking pictures of myself anymore πŸ™‚

Is my skin perfect? No, not yet. It is on it’s way though! It has certainly come a long way since that first week!!! I will continue the treatments every 2 weeks. The minor irritation is worth the results to me.

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day xoxo

Monday Motivation

Happy Monday!

Most dread Monday…I look forward to them. It is the day for me to refocus on my goals and dreams.

Today I train delt and back, hit the treadmill for some high intensity interval training, then posing practice. Even though I have been busy with packing up the house and hauling stuff out to the garage to be sold, I got plenty of rest and am already motivated to kick this week off right! As always I start with Lady Swole MondayΒ

I am 20 weeks out from walking across that stage. I am focused and I am ready!!!! I hope you all have a fabulously fit day! xoxo

What I Look For In A Gym

We joined a gym almost a year ago. It was definitely imperative to my training. The growth difference has been amazing. Having access to things like leg press, hack squat, larger dumbbells, cardio equipment, etc. Not to mention more socializing for Zoe and me. πŸ˜‰ It has been a HUGE life changer.

Now that we have been at the community center for almost a year, we know more what we want from a gym and our membership. We have already began the process of looking for another gym. I believe we have found where we would like to go, but want to take advantage of the free two weeks to make sure we all like it there. We think we have decided on Ozark Fitness here in Springfield. I wanted to share what it is that Josh and I look for in particular, when it comes to a training facility.

  1. Equipment- When we signed up at the community center, I just wanted a place that had equipment that I knew I needed to develop the muscles I was lacking. Problem came when they still did not have everything I need and what they do have, they only have one of. On several occasions I have to wait, not just a few mins, but long periods. I have had to change up my training on several occasions because of this. Plus if equipment breaks it literally takes weeks to be repaired and sometimes the rig the equipment and it shouldn’t even be deemed safe to use. We are looking for a larger facility that has more equipment and takes the time to do proper maintenance.Β
  2. Location- Our current gym is pretty close to the house and we aren’t moving far from where we live now. I like the convenience of that, but also want it to be more convenient for Josh. He actually has to drive out of his way a bit to get to the gym after work. The gym we are looking at is actually the same distance for me, but closer to him.Β
  3. Hours- This is also very important. Josh gets off work very late sometimes and has had to sacrifice his own training since our gym closes at 9pm. The daycare at our current gym also closes fairly early on Saturdays which makes it difficult for me sometimes. 24 hour gym with longer daycare hours is more what we are looking for.Β
  4. Daycare- This is a HUGE bullet for us. We had issues with a teacher in the current daycare. The gym staff seemed to just blow it off. I actually had to rearrange MY schedule to keep my child away from her. She has since quit, but I can see that Zoe only like certain teachers in there. She has also told me she gets bored. Understandably. They don’t have a lot for the kids to do. It is a small room with not a ton of newer big girl toys or activities. That is one of the huge selling points that Ozark fitness has. Not only do they have an adequate amount of toys, but also videos games and an indoor playground! That is just AWESOME! Zoe can get her own workout in while I am training. She is an active child and it would be perfect for her!Β Ozark Fitness Centers
  5. Rates-We want to stay in the price range we are already in or lower if possible. We do not use all of the facilities at our current gym, yet we still have to pay as if we do. A lot of other gyms have a more customization to determine your rates. Being that we are trying to save as much money as possible, this is important!Β
  6. Cleanliness- Our current gym is just gross. I understand all gyms have people who don’t wipe equipment down after they use it, but when the equipment always looks and smells gross, there is an issue. I trained at the local YMCA for two weeks and had no issues there what so ever, so I know it is just another maintenance issue after hours.Β
  7. Cancellation procedures- This is important because we never know when we are going to move again. If by chance we are told we have to move before the 1 year contract is up, I want to make sure we can get out of it. I would hate to have to pay for something we can not utilize.Β

This is what is important to us when looking for a gym. Other things to check out are classes, tanning, personal training, how the staff is, how busy they are and other member amenities. We want to make sure that wherever we sign up, we are happy to be there for the next year. What do you look for in a training facility?

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day!!! xoxo

Nutrition…Think Outside Of The Box

Been motivated, but really tired lately. I think it is a combination of working more around the house with packing, getting things ready for garage sales and lower carbs in my diet. I eat the bulk of my carbs pre and post workout. Still eating a decent amount, but I do look forward to my refeed days lol. Which soon will be once a week rather than once every two. But like I said, definitely NOT lacking in motivation. If anything I have more than ever!!!

It is amazing how much my body is changing. Sorry I haven’t posted a picture update. I promise they will be coming soon. πŸ˜‰ The changes keep me pushing harder. Sometimes when we look at ourselves, we have a hard time seeing the differences that we are making with our nutrition and our training. Take measurements and pictures and compare that way. You will the changes more than just looking in the mirror. Be patient and know that you are making a difference!

I have been asked a lot what it is that I eat. To be honest I eat the same ingredients everyday for the most part lol I do change it up as far as seasoning and I do indulge here and there. That is part of the IIFYM way πŸ˜‰ but not quite as much since I am getting closer to competition. Here are some dishes I eat a lot of….

Cheese chips are what keep my paws out of potato chips and cheese-its ha ha ha I love salty snacks, so that tends to be a weakness for me. with these I can stay in my macros and not use up my carbs. They can be done with just about any cheese. I do it with slices and with shredded. place the cheese on parchment paper then either microwave till crispy or you can bake at 400 degrees till crispy. It honestly does not take long at all, so watch it closely. I typically use the microwave, because it is quicker

Roasted potatoes and chicken tacos. This is a typical post workout meal. Super easy. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I do crock pot shredded chicken once a week and just make different dishes with it. I buy small corn tortillas and bake them into taco shells (less fat this way) I broil the potatoes and shredded chicken in the oven till crispy I use cabbage instead of lettuce and cover in Sriracha hot sauce

Another post workout meal. I again broiled chicken and veggies till crisp and had a serving of jellied cranberries

Typical meal I have later in the day. I do not eat fats pre or post workout and since I workout in the morning, my fattier meals are later in the day πŸ˜‰ I make noodles out of veggies like squash, zucchini, carrots, etc Toss with olive oil or pasta sauce and shrimp or chicken then top with cheese chips.

This is another version of the last meal. Obviously with more cheese chips ha ha

I do get the occasional sweet-tooth as well. When we had snow πŸ˜‰ I was making protein snow ice cream with 3 cups snow, one serving of my Nitrox Pro, 1/2 cup skim milk, and 2 tablespoons of whipped cream. Now that all of our snow is gone ha ha I stick to protein pudding. It is basically Plain Fage Greek yogurt, Nitrox Pro and a little sweetener. Sometimes I add a little sugar free coffee syrup for extra flavor. It helps not only boost my protein, but keep my carbs low and knock that sweet-tooth out. I will also eat sugar free jello πŸ˜‰

I try to keep it as simple as possible. When you are eating 6 or more times a day, you want to have most of your food prepped and meals quick and easy. Otherwise you are cooking all day! Since Zoe eats whenever I eat, it is just another reason to keep it fast and simple. Your nutrition doesn’t have to be difficult. Think outside the box and you can still conquer all your cravings without sacrificing your macros. If you want to indulge here or there, it isn’t as big of a deal if you keep the rest of your diet on point πŸ˜‰

I was also asked why I take supplements. I take them to meet not only my micronutrient needs, but also my macros. I eat a lot of food throughout the day, but without my protein powder I would have a harder time meeting my numbers. My protein of choice is Nitrox pro. It is not only delicious, but super high in protein! 41 grams per serving! It is also one of the easier digesting proteins I have had. I have been using it for over a year and in that time have tried many others and hands down it is by far my fave! I do not get kickbacks when you all purchase Saturn Supplement products I promote them strictly because I LOVE the products and believe in them. I firmly believe my body has been built by my blood, sweat, tears and Saturn Supplements πŸ™‚ I chose to be sponsored by them, because I believe in them as much as they do me! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!!

I Just Want To Thank You!

Today I just want to say Thank You!

I was able to achieve my goal on my Gofundme account!

This is HUGE relief to me! This covered my suit, shoes, my NPC card and contest fees. There are still some expenses, but we will be able to manage them. It has been such a blessing to have those who have donated, as well as given me moral support! I have felt the love!!! To know that so many believe in me and my journey truly means the world to me!

It amazes me how many have reached out to me since yesterday. I have received so many lovely messages and emails letting me know that people believe in me and my journey! It has floored me how many of my online friends have become some of my closest confidants. You all know who you are and I love each and every one of you for being so supportive. I may not always show that I am having a bad day or am lacking belief in myself, but I do have weak moments like anyone else. You all have been there to push me back out of my funk and get the ball rolling again! You have taken the time to know me and be there for my trials and you will be there for my victories!

The greatest thing I have learned in this life, is to let go of toxic people. Seems I had more in my life than I needed. It is amazing how you can love someone so much, but be blind to how much they hurt you. It can be hard to leave these people behind, but it is the best thing in the world once you do it! To surround yourself with positivity and love is the most amazing feeling in the world!

I am still thankful for the haters too ha ha ha. Without you all I would have no one to prove wrong πŸ˜‰

I want to thank my beautiful husband and daughter xoxo They have both been putting up with me. They actually get the pleasure of seeing my weak times, especially Josh. He sees not only the sweat, but the blood and tears that have gone into my training. He is the one who pushes me to what I think is my breaking point, then proves me wrong πŸ˜‰ I am blessed to have the amazing support and love from such a man.

I thank God for his grace and blessings

Last but certainly not least, Thank you to my sponsor Saturn Supplements. You have also been a huge supporter and believer! You have taken me under your wing and made me a part of Team Saturn Muscle! It is an awesome feeling to be a part of a company who is professional and truly has the best product line out there!

Sometimes You Just Have To Push Yourself!

Training this week has been hard! A couple of the days I had a difficult time motivating myself. Sometimes you have to just push yourself to your goals….

I had to remind myself to keep practicing what I preach. I talked to several people who have every excuse in the book and spend WAY too much time trying to find reasons why they are not accomplishing their own goals. I talked a while back about Excusitis CLICK HERE for a recap. It can be contagious…

Apparently this week was send Joanna your negative vibes week lol every excuse from time, weather, even Googling medical conditions (I am in no way saying that some do not have medical conditions that prevent them from achieving their goals) I have just had an over abundance of Google diagnosis being sent to me. I personally feel if you think you have a health condition, then talk to a doctor about it. I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THE MEDICAL FIELD!!!! I do not know anything about medical conditions!!! I do know that I would rely on someone who has the ability to do the proper testing over Dr. Google

Even though I started to get a case of excusitis myself, I did what I needed to do and got my training done! I pushed through and I am sore as all get out, but glad I accomplished it! My training is getting harder as my journey continues. I am trying to not only maintain muscle, but if at all possible continue to grow a little in the next 21 weeks. I am focused, even when I don’t feel like doing the task at hand. My body is changing and I do LOVE that!

I am definitely excited to compete and keep growing in this sport! If you lack in motivation, take a step back and evaluate what you truly want. I look at it as you can spend your time wishing you were accomplishing your goals, or you can spend your time learning and doing what you need to get where you dream!

It won’t happen overnight, but with hard work and determination it WILL happen! Just keep pushing!!!! My rest days are just about over and I am ready to hit the gym tomorrow with a vengeance! It will be motivation Monday and I will be ready!!!! I hope you all have a fabulously fit day xoxo

Re-Feed Day Excitement & A PSA Especially For The Ladies

I am pretty stoked today! It is leg day AND my re-feed day!!!!!

My last re-feed day I ate somewhere in the vicinity of 400g of carbs give or take. I felt great! Strong, focused and re-energized. Re-feed days are not an excuse to pig out. My fat is reduced to as little as possible and my protein lowered to 1g per pound of my body weight. This re-feed will be treated the same as the last.

It the little things ha ha ha πŸ˜‰

Enough about my excitement for food lol. I did want to touch on a subject. It’s not the happiest one, but needs to be put out there. If for anything, just for me to vent. Yesterday when I got to the gym, I was pretty happy that the place was a ghost town. Even though I do enjoy meeting people and talking, the gym is not the place I like to socialize. I am there to train and get out. Like most gyms mine has a daycare limit of 2 hours. Some days I do push that limit. Anyway, while I was training a man came in. He was a short round bald man, wearing jeans, work boots and a navy blue t-shirt. At first I thought he might be a repairman for the Community center. He stood behind me and I could see in the mirror that his face was towards a tv, but he was watching me. Shortly after my first set he picked up a set of dumbbells and pretended to work his arms. I say pretended, because he obviously had underestimated the amount of weight he picked up, but continued to do barely half reps of curls. I thought, well maybe he is a resolutionist trying to keep with his New Year’s goals…. Then he started talking to me. At first pleasantries, nothing odd or unusual. He talked about the weather. Asked if I was training for something? How long I had been training at that gym? Then he started asking strange questions like How old are you? On what side of the city do you live? Where else do you have tattoos? (I have two noticeable ones) Annoying questions that I was blatenly ignoring. Then he started asking me things that made me more uneasy… How old is your daughter? (I never told him I had a child) Do you have any teenage children? Are you still married? How do you like driving a Buick? (I never told him what kind of car I drove) I never showed fear or that I was bothered in the least, outside of annoyance. I just calmly asked him to leave me alone so I could train. However, he did hit a nerve with me. It is not something I do, or will discuss, but I have been a victim before. Needless to say, I am a paranoid person. When he left I immediately texted my husband, then spoke with workers at the gym about the situation. It is never a great feeling when someone is violating your personal space. This man’s intent was to try to intimidate me. To an extent I suppose he did, but he won’t keep me from training and I won’t allow him to make me fear leaving my home. Being a victim in the past has taught me many things. One, I am a survivor. I took a bad situation and made myself stronger from it. Two, to assess my surroundings. I do look over my shoulder a lot. I always know who is around me. I made sure to study every detail of this man. From the blue ink pen he had in his front shirt pocket, the tear in the left pant leg near his boot, to the raised mole on the left cheek. Three, not to show fear. When you show fear or intimidation, you allow them to see your weaknesses. Staying calm allows you to figure out your next step. Four, listen. By asking questions, this man not only let me know what he knows about me, but what he was interested in, as well as some personal info about himself that he may not have meant to say, ie he doesn’t have tattoos, he lived within walking distance, etc. Five, seek help. Tell someone…anyone every detail about the situation that occurred. By what I told the gym, they knew exactly who I was talking about and now can watch him. Did he do anything wrong? No. Again, I am a paranoid person. However, in my opinion his behavior was suspicious. I will NOT be a victim again, nor will I allow someone to make my daughter a victim. I think it is important for everyone, women especially to learn some form of self defense and/or have a way to protect themselves. Many have the “it won’t happen to me attitude” I personally have the I won’t let it happen again attitude. Always be prepared for anything!

Sorry this isn’t the happiest post, but I do think that it is something that needed to be said. There is a lot of people who can bother you at the gym. If for whatever reason you feel that you could be in danger definitely go with your intuition and report the person. Do what you need to do to stay safe! Some victims never live to tell what they could have done differently. I am blessed xoxo Hope you all stay safe and have a fabulously fit day!!!!!

Monday…Begin This Week Strong!

Okay, I am definitely done with winter.

After another 7 inches of snow and our 3rd snow fall of the year, turning down Florida now seems like the wrong decision ha ha ha Maybe next year we will move to a warmer area πŸ˜›

All kidding aside….Today as you know is Monday. Josh and I talked last night and since I am only 22 weeks out, we both agreed that it is not smart if I miss any more training time. We woke up earlier this morning to get Zoe and I ready and took Josh to work (since his car won’t make it in this mess) then Zoe and I headed to the gym to train Delts and Back and complete some HIIT on the treadmill. Nothing is coming between me and my goals. I LOVE the support of my husband!!!! No only and amazing husband, but father as well xoxo I am certainly blessed!

I am always happy for Monday, because I love my training days! As always I kick things off with Lady Swole Monday

It’s Crunch Time!

The past week was awesome! I got a ton of PR’s and felt strong in the gym!

It is amazing how much I have grown over the past year. Josh was watching football the other night while I was doing my posing practice. He caught me off guard with comments on how wide my back has gotten and how much my lats have grown. For him to notice while the game was on is a big deal ha ha ha ha πŸ˜‰

I have sent off for the entry forms for 2 competitions. One is the Muscle Mayhem Championship in Overland Kansas on June 7, 2014.

Screenshot_2014-01-02-16-20-00-1The original plan was to compete here in Springfield, but I realize now that the Springfield show is the state championships. (Probably not the best choice as a first show ha ha) I have sent off for the entry form for that competition as well, but am not sure if I will be able to afford that one, but if we can manage it, I will definitely enter as my second show!

I will now have to pay for a hotel room on top of my other expenses, luckily the drive isn’t terribly bad or far from here so gas isn’t a huge issue. When I first started this journey, my goal was to just cross the stage. I would be lying to myself and you if I said that is still my main goal. I have every intention of walking away with top 3. Yes I am setting the bar high for myself. Especially since it is my first competition, but it’s like they always say…Go big or go home ha ha ha

I am working harder than ever and am excited to say I am officially 22 weeks out from show time!!!! It is crunch time!!!! I am asking help to hit my financial goal on my Go Fund Me account, so if you or anyone you know is wanting to help someone out, I would greatly appreciate it!!!! πŸ˜‰

Hope you all have a fabulously fit day and be sure to check out my sponsor! Use code SBSC πŸ˜‰

New Year Resolutions….Nah I got Goals!!!!!

Happy New Year!!!! I am so excited to start this year! It’s funny this time last year, I thought I knew exactly what I was doing and how to get where I needed to be. I had NO CLUE!!!! 2013 was a year of learning, and I know 2014 will be no different πŸ˜‰

I am ecstatic for what this year holds. One thing I decided not to do this year is make a resolution. The definition of resolution isΒ a firm decision to do or not to do something,Β the action of solving a problem, dispute, or contentious matter. Most resolutions go to the wayside. Every resolution I have ever set for myself, I gave up on at some point in the year. Monthly goals I have an easier time with πŸ˜‰

No more empty promises from me. I am just going to stick to making my monthly goals! I have a lot to accomplish this year. My big goals are always easier if I break them down into smaller goals. Life changes so much throughout a year and sometimes you have to readjust your small goals to reach the big ones!

Let’s start January off right!

1. My first goal is to get this house and our family ready for our move. It takes time to get everything organized and clean. I am particular, so every year I make sure I have plenty of time to do things. This makes the move go much easier and less stressful!

2. Organize some garage sales. We typically sell and donate a ton of stuff before we move. This year will be no different. We have stuff that we have no idea why we have been holding on to it, but we have. The time has come to just let it go ha ha. We are downsizing from a big house to an apartment and know that we will be moving again in 16 months, so no need to have stuff that we do not use. If I haven’t seen something since our last move, it is going!!!! Luckily we live in a city that has a ton of garage sales every week ha ha ha

3. Get Josh’s student loan payments figured out, then assess how we will handle the rest of our debt. This is a huge issue for us. His student loans are a huge chunk of our financial frustrations. We are closer now to getting them under control, but are still having money problems. We know that as long as we work hard and stay faithful, God will lead us and help us in figuring them out.

4. Making sure Zoe’s lesson plans stay on track. Every year around this time I focus more on the move and Zoe’s lesson plan slacks. I need to stay focused this month and make sure she and I are on top of things!

5. I am going to change up my training a bit this month. I plan on training my back and shoulders twice a week. Then switching it up as needed for other body parts. I want to maximize my training. I also want to keep up with my cardio. I hate cardio and I slacked for a bit, but I need to keep my ultimate goal of crossing that stage in mind and just do it. πŸ˜‰

6. Figure out my next step in my competition. I believe it will be to get my NPC card. This is going to cost money, so hopefully get more donations so I can make this happen! Thankfully I have had a couple and have been able to not only purchase my shoes, but also order my suit which is currently being made! I am almost 50% `to my goal!

6. To continue to work hard for my sponsor Saturn Supplements! I know they have some amazing things planned for 2014 and I would love to be a part of them! I truly love this company, what they stand for, their phenomenal team, not to mention the amazing product line they have! It has been a blessing to work with them and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for their support on my journey!!!

7. Last, but certainly not least, I owe myself time to collect my thoughts, pray, read, relax, humble myself and just be. This is something I struggle with every month. I spend a lot of time trying to be the perfect everything and I forget to just be me lol I need down time and I know this πŸ˜‰ Life is about balance and just being is a huge part of this.

I hope you all have a fabulous day and set the bar high this month!!!! Happy New Year from Sports Bras and Sippy Cups xoxo
