Motivation & Moving Monday! #HappyMonday #SaturnSupplements @SaturnMuscle

Hope you all are ready for a phenomenal week!!!! We are leaving for Salt Lake City late tonight. Today will be spent resting to gear up for the long drive.

Not gonna lie, staying on track with my macros hasn’t been my highest priority. I have been tracking them, but not staying within the guidelines I have set for myself. I know I will get back on track once we get there and get settled. πŸ˜‰ My training will start back up Thursday. Luckily my apartment gym is pretty stellar, so shouldn’t be too bad to get back into my groove. We will be joining Gold’s gym probably on Friday. I am ready to get into a new routine in new surroundings!!!

I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday ha ha ha I am already exhausted!!!! Between training, packing, moving boxes and furniture, my body is taxed. I am actually looking forward to the two extra days off next week! Tonight we take all the furniture apart, then we load it all up into the moving pods tomorrow morning and get those babies shipped off πŸ˜‰ Gonna be quite the task after leg training ha ha ha ha

I know it takes time to grow. There are times when I feel like I am still spinning my wheels. Like I am just getting fat during this bulk ha ha ha. Normal to feel that way πŸ˜‰ It is a mind game. Gaining weight when it seemed to take so long to figure out how to lose it, would be difficult for anyone. Seeing this put my mind back where it needed to be and reassured me that I am in fact growing some muscle, not just getting fat!

No weight check this week, which also means no Body fat check. Both the scale and calipers are packed πŸ˜‰

Happy Monday!!!! Just 8 days and counting till our big move!!!

Still haven’t been able to announce where publicly, but I will soon πŸ˜‰ This week I am excited about the move and very busy! I have been doing my best to keep my training as hardcore as always. Mainly, because I know with the move there will be some down time. Two day will be travel days. The new apartment complex has a fabulous gym, so once we are there, I can get right back into my training. Already have a gym picked out near the apartment and will be ready to go once we can get unpacked and settled in. Nutrition during the move is a concern. I will probably have two untracked days. In all honesty I don’t need the extra stress. I will do my best to keep my choices healthy and eyeball portions as much as I can, but I’m not going to freak out if I have to have fast food or gas station choices. Chances are I will probably under eat more than I will over eat. Either way, I will just have a fun roadtrip!

This is week 11 of my bulk. I feel as if I have grown a little muscle, emphasis on the word little ha ha. It is hard for women to grow muscle. This is why I always laugh when I hear females say they don’t lift heavy because they don’t want to get bulky. I DO want to get bulky and it is really difficult!!! I get frustrated sometimes, because I want it to happen faster.

Truth is I know it will take years to have the body I envision in my head right now. Chances are when I get there, I still won’t be satisfied ha ha I will always be a work in progress πŸ˜‰ I will just keep making those small goals, trying to hit weekly PR’s , and be happy being just me. Over time I will grow and I will get better!!!

This week is Pre-Shark week…..

These are awesome! Ha ha ha I need these in my life!!!

I am crabby, sleepy, bloated, and HUNGRY!!!! All the norm for me. My weight has been fluctuating from between 140.8 to 144.3lbs Today I am 142.0. My weight does not freak me out anymore, especially around my period. I just know it will be off by up to 6lbs. I have been monitoring my cycle closely and it is interesting to see how the body works every month. If you have been following me for a while, you know that the scale has never been my friend. Like most women, I became obsessed with weighing myself EVERYDAY. I became obsessed with what I thought the number should be. It has always been easier to say “Don’t worry about the scale” Don’t let that Number justify your progress”, but the scale truly is just a tool. When you see how much your weight can fluctuate from stress, hormonal changes, lack of sleep, etc You really start to understand that minor changes mean nothing. Fact: To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit, To gain you need to be in a surplus. Tracking your weight daily is redundant. It messes with your emotions which can cause the scale to stall. Setting a weekly day/time to weigh yourself is recommended. I typically chose first thing in the morning on Tuesday of every week. REMEMBER THE SCALE IS JUST A TOOL!!! Measurements and pics offer a bit more to your progress timeline πŸ˜‰

*In all honesty calipers are never accurate. I measure 3 times to get the results and I think it is WAY low. If I were to eyeball my bodyfat % I would put myself somewhere between 20-25%


I am highly stressed this week with the move. I am pre-menstrual, lacking sleep, and overall probably over working my body. I am most certainly bloated, but still feel great about this week’s check in! Next week I won’t have the scale to weigh in, because it will be packed. I will keep out my measuring tape and still take photos though πŸ˜‰

I am more than ready to tackle this week! I believe we will be set to move at the beginning of the final week of October. Again, can’t say where we are headed yet, but I can say it is a HUGE move. We have most of the arrangements taken care of. Breaking of the lease, how we will move our stuff, establishing a new apartment, and most of the packing is complete. This week I will finish the bulk of our packing and make sure all the final cleaning is done. With it being “pre” shark week, my training, and all the extra work I am tired, but I am motivated to keep pushing!!!!

It was like any other day as of late ha ha I Trained in the morning, then came home to pack , clean, eat, and rest. We are almost ready to go. Looks like we will be moving the last week of October.

Β This move is much like our first move to Texas a few years ago. We had no clue where we were going ha ha ha. We know what state we are headed to, however I can not share that info quite yet. πŸ˜‰ (Company security reasons) What I can say is that we are excited for this newest adventure!

Going in blind adds a bit of stress/excitemnet to the move, but we know that God will guide us where we need to go. Β We love the adventure! We love meeting new people, exploring new areas, new foods, learning, and growing from all the new experiences.

Β I have learned to look at things in a positive light and with doing so, it seems I feel I am so much more blessed than I had ever realized. Things that I may have not noticed in the past or had taken for granted have become the sources to some of my happiest moments and most cherished times. I am certainly humbled by my life and grateful for the fact that we can just pick up and move on a whim. To some it seems crazy, to us it is a wonderful life experience!

Weekly Check In #Week10 #Bulking

My training, although much more difficult is definitely changing my body! Every week I see gains in different areas. My hubs even commented last night how much fuller my delts and back have been looking. The noticed growth has really boosted my self esteem! If you feel and think positive thoughts, then results seem to come easier πŸ˜‰

Now with all that being said, I have been so so so sore!!! I spend my afternoons icing down either in a cold bath or with ice packs or bags of frozen veggies. I had no idea what true DOMS were until this bulk. My training is lasting anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours and my body is feeling it each and everyday. My rest days are not only earned, but very much needed ha ha ha

This week I haven’t had much change in my measurements. My weight is the same as last week as well. I will still stay at the same macros. I actually have a hard time eating that much on some days. Even though I am not lean by any means, this bulk is going exactly as planned and I am enjoying it. Doing a controlled bulk has given me the piece of mind that I won’t allow things to get too crazy like last year πŸ˜‰

Not many changes and I am fine with that. Hubby’s job will be relocating us again. I have been spending much time researching where contests are and when they are. I am adamant that I would like to wait to compete till the Fall of 2015. I feel that I need this amount of time to grow as much as possible. With that being said, it is a long bulk. Even though I am not worried about gaining weight, I want to make sure I don’t go overboard. This week’s stability is a great thing and i knew it would come soon πŸ˜‰

I feel great this week! I started the week with a new mentality and focus. No more worrying about getting fluffy. It is part of the process and that is that. Now I am just focusing everything on getting stronger and bigger!!! I decided to aim to hit a PR on at least one lift a day for the rest of the month. I am excited to try to push myself to the limits and see how far I can go πŸ˜‰

Today is leg day, so you know I am going for a squat PR. Haven’t had one in a while. Today is the day to push myself!!!

My body has been more sore than ever! I know I am retaining water during recovery, so all my muscles are feeling super full. No change in macros, because my gains are constant.

Dear October I’m Gonna Make You Awesome! #Goals #BuiltBySaturnSupplements @SaturnMuscle

October is going to be an awesome month! It will be a very busy/stressful month, but I am setting the bar high nonetheless. The only way to achieve my dreams is to make goals and smash them πŸ˜‰

Goal One: Celebrate Josh and my birthdays πŸ˜‰ This is more of a requirement ha ha ha The past couple of years I have been dieting when our birthdays have come along. I hardly indulged. This year they will be free days. No worries, just enjoy our time.

Goal Two: Pack up the house. Yes, we are moving again ha ha ha. Josh has had several meetings with several markets within his company. Everywhere from Wisconsin, Alabama, Chicago, Kentucky, etc We think we know where we are headed, although it has not officially been confirmed. Josh brought home boxes and said start packing, so Zoe and I have done just that! Zoe has made sure to sign all the boxes with her stuff in them ha ha, we wouldn’t want her stuff to get misplaced πŸ˜‰ We are excited for the next adventure!!!!


Goal Three: To face the fluff. What I mean by this, is I still go back and forth with gaining weight. Not so much the scale per say, but the fluff hanging over my pants, tighter sports bras, tighter everything…. Somedays it doesn’t bother me at all, other days it’s really hard for me. part of it is the fact that it is so stinkin’ hot here. We had a stint of fall weather, then right back in to the upper 80’s lower 90’s. Those fall/winter clothes keep me more covered, therefore less self conscious ha ha ha Definitely a mental battle I am still fighting. I have felt better the past couple of weeks. I just need to keep my focus on my ultimate goals! Josh has been awesome with helping boost my self esteem. He thinks part of my issue is I tend to compare with what I see on social networks. I think he might be right ha ha ha. I never see many women who are “bulking”. They all seem to go into hiding and never post pics. I completely understand why. I have a hard time posting them myself, but I want to stay true to my journey and let everyone see the process I am going through. Gah the mind games ha ha ha

Goal Four: With the moving process, I have a tendency to slack on Zoe’s lesson time. Last move I did pretty good with keeping up on it and I plan on keeping her focused this time around as well. She has already made her goal list for the month and actually had it started last week ha ha ha. Gotta love an over-achiever πŸ˜‰


Goal Five: I want to hit a PR on at least exercise each day. It is important to me to grow this off season and to do so, I need to lift heavy. I still plan on leaving my ego at the door, because keeping proper form is also important. I just know to really maximize my gains, I need to be pushing myself to the limits. Basically if I get to my last set and I am lifting 3 or more. I will add a set to push out at least one at a heaver weight.

Goal Six: Continue to keep main focus on Back and Delts. Again, those are the sweet spots in figure and my weakest points. I have seen better gains this past month. I have made my back and my delt training much harder and longer with a good burnout session at the end of each which I feel has made a huge difference. I spend most of my week in pain and with ice packs on random parts of my body, but I am growing πŸ˜‰

Goal Seven: Posing, posing, posing practice. My physique is not the only thing to work on this off season. I need to perfect my posing. In prep, I thought I had it down. I thought I knew what to expect. Even though I know it was more difficult that it looked, I had no clue really how HARD it is on stage. Holding the poses is important. They had us holding for what seemed like forever and I wasn’t ready, or conditioned for that. I also forgot to move my hair on back pose. I am so use to it being up, that it completely slipped my mind. I didn’t realize till I saw the photos later. Β My stage presence is as important as my physique πŸ˜‰


October marks the one year mark before I hit the stage again. I am starting it strong and plan on keeping the momentum up!!! Hope you all have set the bar high and are ready to make October YOUR definitive month!
